Dear Community,
The Board and Executive Committee have been working to finalize the details of the upcoming Budget Forum, and we are pleased to share them with you in this email.
The forum will take place on Thursday, January 16th, at 6:30 PM via Zoom. We have chosen to meet virtually to ensure the meeting runs smoothly and to make it accessible to everyone who wishes to attend. To receive the zoom link, please register HERE. We will not publish the link on the website, so the only way to receive the link is to register.
The forum will be moderated by Rabbi James Greene. Rabbi Greene is the Executive Director of Jewish Family Services of Western MA, a classmate and friend of Rabbi Weiner’s, and has recently become an official JCA member.
The goal of this forum is to provide community members with the opportunity to examine the budget in detail. At the Annual Meeting, many expressed a desire to “see the numbers,” and it is our commitment to be fully transparent. To help you better understand the budget documents, we have asked our bookkeeper, Liliana Kualapai, to create an informational video, which we hope will be helpful.

If you can, we recommend viewing the video that Lili created before the forum HERE. It contains information about the evolution of our bookkeeping systems since 2022 and offers an explanation of the reports that are currently being generated. We think this background information will be useful.

We respectfully request that you submit any questions in writing by Monday, January 13th at 5:00 PM. so we can prepare thoroughly. Please send your questions to me and Bob at [email protected]. This will give our staff adequate time to prepare thoughtful and comprehensive responses. While we will accommodate clarifying and follow-up questions during the forum, we ask that initial questions be submitted in advance.
