Community Listening Session
For JCA Members Only
Description
Dear friends,
In light of the ongoing horrors in Israel and Gaza, and, in particular, the way they have impacted our lives here in Amherst with the recent passage of the local Ceasefire resolution, I would like to invite you to join me--next Wednesday night at 7:30pm--for another in our ongoing series of community listening sessions.
As in past sessions, anyone who would like to speak will be welcome to do so for a fixed period of time, without crosstalk or debate, but simply as an opportunity to speak your mind and be heard by your community.
I make this invitation knowing full well that members of our community took opposing positions on this resolution, so I ask you to make a special effort both to speak your truth and to work with me on maintaining the ambience of respect and gentleness that is crucial to overall communal well-being.
This will be a Zoom-only event for JCA members only, taking place at the JCA's regular services link. Ma'ariv will precede this event at the same link, beginning at 7pm, and you are very welcome to attend.
