Jewish Family Services has an urgent need for car seats for the many families they are resettling. They have a particular need for infant seats – new parents are not able to leave the hospital without a car seat. If you have a car seat that is in good shape, has never been in an accident, and that you aren’t using, please donate it. It is important that you check the expiration date which is usually listed on a sticker – often next to the seat’s model number. If not check the date of manufacture and add 6 years. After that they are not usable.
If you have any questions about the car seat you can contact Jillian Miller at JFS ([email protected]).
If you don’t have a car seat but would like to help with this urgent need you can make a donation to Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts and designate it to HPP for the purchase of car seats. If you’d like to purchase one to donate, JFS prefers convertible car seats that can transition from infant rear-facing to forward-facing seats, such as this one: Graco Triride 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat - Kipling : Target.
