Description

The JCA has been invited to participate in this year's Reform Movements L'taken social justice seminar for high school students.

L’Taken is a four-day seminar that brings together hundreds of Jewish high-schoolers from across the country to Washington, DC to learn about Jewish values, social justice and advocacy.  Including the opportunity to meet with and lobby our state delegates.

QUICK DEADLINE

We need to confirm if we have 10 or more students committed to attending by next week 5/22. I know that is a short turnaround time. So here is as much information as I can pull together quickly.

DATES -  January 31-February 3

Sample Schedule - to see a sample of what the 4 day schedule would look like.

Participant and Family Page - to read more info that might be helpful

Cost - the total cost of the trip, including flights from Bradley, transportation in DC, and all meals and accommodations (4 kids per room) is $1050 per participant.  Of that, there is an HGF grant that will cover $500, and the URJ is offering a $200 discount per person since it is our first time.  So out of pocket cost per student will be $279.  We are committed to making this affordable for everybody, and have additional scholarship money available.

Missing school - the URJ provides a letter that can be furnished to schools to request an excused absence.

Click here to sign up by Wednesday 5/22 - We need to confirm we have enough students to go.  And if we have more than 10, to make sure we have enough spots reserved.  So please fill out the form below, and pay a $50 non-refundable deposit. If we don't have enough kids to go, we will refund the deposit.

Let me know if you have any questions - [email protected].
I'm very excited to be able to offer this opportunity.
Also, feel free to pass this along to additional families who have high school students.
